Cameras like the DMC G7 tend to fluctuate between set prices, and it’s rare to seem them drop much lower. Despite being almost two years old, the DMC G7 has only dropped below $500 once before, during last year’s Black Friday. Right now at least Amazon and B&H Photo Studio are matching that price.
The DMC G7 is a mirrorless camera with an interchangeable lens system and a strong auto-focus feature. Given this camera was released in 2015, there are newer cameras with newer features, like the DMC G85, but those will cost you at least $200 more than the G7 even without this deal. It’s the price that’s important here, and for $497.99 you get a very capable mirrorless camera with the ability to shoot 4k video.
DP Review has a highly detailed review about all the little things important to photographers. They put the DMC G7 through the ringer and came to the conclusion that it’s “an impressive all-rounder, combining solid image quality, impressive autofocus performance and 4K capability into a compact body with extensive external controls.” It’s a camera for beginners who want something that starts off easy and can be customized as they grow comfortable or for professional photographers who need a secondary camera with strong video capabilities.
