Deals on Sonos speakers and home audio products are pretty rare which makes them worth jumping on no matter what time of year it is when they do crop up. Of course, the best time to keep an eye out for deals is around major sales or the holidays. Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday usually bring around some discounts, and the holiday season is also a good time to shop for yourself or someone else. That being said, we do occassionally see limited-time sales for other holidays throughout the year or even just random site-wide sales. We keep track of all the majpr retailers for any fluctuations in price and keep this page updated when prices drop.

It's also worth keeping your eyes peeled for when Sonos releases new speaker or soundbar models. The previous-gen devices tend not to stick around for too long, but in the days and weeks just after a new product launch they tend to get steeply discounted until the retailers clear their inventory.

If you don't need something brand new, refurbished units are the way to go. When purchased from a reputable seller like Best Buy or Sonos itself you can save a good amount and get hardware that looks and performs like new.

Which Sonos speaker is right for me?

The entire Sonos lineup is pretty great. There really isn't a bad speaker in the entire Sonos product range, though your needs will probably dictate which is right for you.

The Sonos One is a great all-rounder and one of the most versatile options. If you're new to Sonos or want to expand a current Sonos system, it's a great buy. It's small enough to fit in most rooms, offers exceptional sound quality for its size, and you can even have it do double duty as a Google Assistant or Alexa smart speaker to answer all of your random questions throughout the day or control playback.

You can use a Sonos One on its own and it will work great, though it also hooks up with other Sonos products really easily thanks to how Sonos has designed its ecosystem. You can pair the One with other Sonos products throughout your home for multi-room audio, pair two Ones next to each other for stereo sound, or pair a couple of Ones with the Beam or Playbase for 3.1 surround sound.

For a pure TV upgrade, the Sonos Beam is the soundbar worth considering. It's one of the best soundbars out there, regardless of brand, and is surprisingly compact, sounds fantastic, and is super-simple to set up.

Sonos One vs. Sonos One SL

The Sonos One and Sonos One SL are essentially identical, except for one key detail. In the Sonos While you'll get a microphone for Alexa support, whereas the Sonos One SL does not have a microphone built-in at all. You can still controll the microphone-free One SL with your voice, though it would be done through a seperate Alexa device and the Sonos Alexa skill or your phone or tablet.

Sonos Beam vs. Sonos Playbar

Sonos Beam and Sonos Playbar are two of the most popular soundbar options Sonos offers. The Beam is equipped with four full-range woofers, a tweeter, and three passive radiators and is generally cheaper than the Playbar. For the extra money, the Playbar gets you nine Class-D digital amplifiers, three tweeters, and six midrange woofers as well as the ability to wall-mount it under your TV if you want to.

Does Sonos need Wi-Fi and Bluetooth?

In short, yes. When you stream music to your Sonos speakers it uses a Wi-Fi connection and using smart features like multi-room and Alexa require it too. On Sonos models that include Bluetooth, you can use that to play music when Wi-Fi is not available.
