Update: This offer has ended.

I like my beats fast and my bass down low.

Is this deal for me?

Best Buy has the Beats by Dre Studio2 Wireless On-Ear Headphones on sale for $179.99. You can choose from several different colors and finishes.

These bad boys feature adaptive noise cancellation, Bluetooth wireless up to a 30-foot range, the Beats Acoustic Engine, and a rechargeable battery. The battery will get you up to 12 hours of wireless use and up to 20 hours wired use. The only drawback is that these use USB 2.0, so the charge time isn't as fast as newer generations. You'll also get a hardshell carrying case, a RemoteTalk cable, and a 1-year warranty.

These received 4.6 out of 5 stars based on over 10,000 customer reviews. While I don't have any personal experience with this specific model, I do have a pair of Beats Solo3 wireless headphones, and I absolutely love them. I know that audiophiles often complain about Beats, but I honestly can't get over how much I adore them. The bass in hip-hop is immersive, rock is the best kind of soul-shattering, and if I feel like blasting music my Beats don't let me down. My music still sounds exactly the same, but louder. There is no loss of quality as the volume increases.

They are also extremely comfortable to wear, although they can get heavy after awhile. My only gripe is that thanks to the noise-cancelling qualities of the headphones, combined with the lack of sound bleeding, my friends often call my name and turn around to see me ignoring them, bobbing my head to what seems like nothing. If looking like a crazy person is the trade-off for my brain happily rattling around to the beat of Run the Jewels, I'll take it.

TL;DR

  • What makes this deal worth considering? - This price is the best deal on the Internet right now, with one exception. If you're picking up the black pair, you can get one in new condition with an open box for $10 less at iTechDeals.
  • Things to know before you buy! - The Studio2 headphones are a great deal, but they're a previous generation. The Studio3 headphones haven't really gone on sale yet. However, you can spend a bit more, depending on the color, and pick up a pair of Beats Solo3 headphones with more impressive specs and a wider color selection. For instance, the Gloss Black Beats Solo3 are only $20 more than the Studio2.
