Update: Dell's 48-hour pre-Black Friday sale has ended, but the next deals will be available beginning November 15.

Happy November! The Christmas season is right around the corner, but until then, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are coming to help us get prepped with awesome gifts at thrifty prices. You may have already noticed that Kohl's has already released its Black Friday ad this year - but we now have the next major retailer's ad ready to be scanned and scrutinized for its best, and worst, deals available.

This morning, Dell didn't just release the 14-page Black Friday 2017 ad online... the company also unveiled 48-hour access to select deals which are now on sale!

Dell's early Black Friday deals don't just end tomorrow though. If you sign up for the free Dell Advantage Loyalty Rewards program, you'll gain early access to upcoming doorbusters and deals from November 15 through the 22nd. Members will receive 3% back on qualifying purchases. Dell will also make some of the deals available to all consumers during that time.

What's Hot

Dell is planning Thanksgiving doorbuster sales beginning at 11 a.m. ET on the 23rd and then hourly from 6 p.m. through midnight that same day. Friday will have even more hourly doorbusters from 8 a.m. through 8 p.m. Thankfully, Dell's revealing what's on sale when, so you know just the right time to pull yourself away from the family and the feast.

  • The hottest deal sure to go quick is Dell's 6 p.m. doorbuster on Thanksgiving: the Inspiron 14 3000 laptop for $129.99. This computer features Windows 10 running on an Intel Celeron processor with 2GB memory and 32GB storage. This 14" laptop will be down to its lowest price ever, but at that price, I don't think people will care what it has in it or how big the discount is. People are going to buy this thing before they even read the specs, so don't hesitate on this one if you're interested.

  • If you don't manage to snag the laptop above, have no fear considering it's the lowest-specced model available. You'll probably have better luck trying to buy the Inspiron 15 3000 for $299.99. It runs Windows 10 as well on a 6th gen Intel Core i3 processor with 4GB memory and a 1TB hard drive. This one will be available as an online doorbuster at 8 a.m. ET on Black Friday, and it will go fast as well, but not as fast.

  • Dell will have some desktop computers on sale too. The Alien Aurora will be a doorbuster at 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving for $799.99. It runs Windows 10 on an 8th gen Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB memory, a 1TB hard drive, and a 6GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card at a $300 discount and its lowest price ever. The inexpensive option is the $200 Inspiron Small Desktop which has an Intel Pentium processor, 8GB memory and 1TB hard drive - and that one will be available at 7 p.m. Thanksgiving night. Dell will be offering a 32-inch monitor to go with it for $169.99, and that deal will go live at the same time. All of these offers are worth considering.

  • Beyond PCs, there is a variety of televisions and audio equipment on sale too. The Bose QuietComfort 25 noise-cancelling headphones will be down to just $180 at a $100 discount off the normal pricing. I'm surprised we're not seeing an offer for the 35 or the 35 II instead, but in general, the noise-cancellation technology is going to be similarly as amazing in this set as it is in the new ones. We have seen this item around this price just a couple weeks ago, but these headphones remain an awesome bargain at that price. Another great sound offer is the Samsung Wireless 200W Sound Bar System for $119.99. It's dropped around this price a couple of times before now, but never this low.

  • The LG 65-inch 4K Smart HDR Ultra TV will be discounted by $100 down to $800 and also comes with a $150 Dell promo eGift card. It's important to remember those promotional gift cards expire 90 days after your purchase though, so you can't hold onto it forever. All of the other TV deals come with a similarly-restricted eGift card as well, like the 60-inch version of the tv above for $700. That one includes a $200 gift card. The thing is, this TV sells for that price at stores like Best Buy and Walmart already, so you'd have to make sure to use the gift card in time, or else this offer wasn't a "deal" at all. But it's pretty great if you do manage to use that eGift card. I'd recommend checking out Dell's website beforehand so you can determine what extra item you'd want to grab.

What's Not

Black Friday is the best time of the year to find amazing deals on tech, but that doesn't mean every 'deal' offered is truly a good deal. There are actually loads of products which will be on sale at various retailers during Black Friday and Cyber Monday which you could've found at Amazon for the same price or lower during the past few months. Black Friday shopping is best done when you're prepared, know what you're aiming for and just how much it's worth. Don't get fooled by the following deals:

  • The consoles: Dell is offering both the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One S for $199.99 and $189.99 respectively. It's not a bad price for the systems, but we see $200 Xbox One S consoles more often than we don't, and the ad from Kohl's has already beaten Dell to the punch with a better deal - as you can grab these systems for the same price at Kohl's and also grab up to $60 in Kohl's Cash too to make other purchases with. Dell will also have an online doorbuster at 11 p.m. on Thanksgiving featuring an Xbox One S Battlefield bundle along with Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza Horizon 3, but as we've seen the Battlefield bundle reach $200 before, this is only a good deal if you happen to want the Forza games as those are really what's discounted here.

  • The gaming accessories: The Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 will be on sale with the same two Forza games from the Xbox bundle previously mentioned at $259.99, but you can buy the Thrustmaster itself for just $90 on Amazon. Even adding on the games at full MSRP of $60 wouldn't reach Dell's bundle price. I wouldn't touch this deal with a 39-and-a-half-foot pole. The PSVR bundle is a nice offer for $200 if you've been waiting on a decent price, but we've already featured it at $180 just a couple of weeks ago.

  • The Nest Learning Thermostat for $199.99: We've mentioned this item at this price a couple times, and it's dropped to around $210 before as well. If you're hunting for a Nest Thermostat, it's not a bad deal. But it's not what we expect to see in an ad scan with amazing deals either.

  • The Alienware Gaming Keyboard and Mouse bundle for $129.99: This is a nice bundle of items - but they're only discounted by about $5 each from what you'd buy them separately for on Amazon on any given day.

  • The Samsung SmartThings Home Monitoring Kit for $149.99: Another item we've featured on Thrifter at this price multiple times.

After Black Friday, Dell will be offering even more deals. The weekend after will see 15% discounts on all Dell Gaming, Alienware, XPS and Inspiron products for the first time ever. A day later on the 26th, Cyber Week begins! There will be rolling doorbusters every hour during Cyber Monday as well. We're still waiting to see what deals those days will bring, so stay tuned!
