Update: Free-Play Weekend has ended.
PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gamers can try out Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands for free this weekend, beginning October 12 at 2am CT. You'll gain full access to this tactical open-world shooter with the capability to play through single-player mode or co-op with up to four friends. It also features the brand new Ghost War PvP mode which was just launched this week.
Exploring Bolivia and taking down the Santa Blanca cartel might take some time, so Ubisoft will be discounting the standard, Deluxe and Gold versions of the game by 50% on all platforms through October 23. This offer is only valid for digital versions of the game from the Microsoft, PlayStation or Ubisoft online stores.
To get in on the action, PS4 players must be subscribed to Playstation Plus while Xbox owners have to have an Xbox Live Gold membership. PC gamers will have to download Ubisoft's UPlay program which is similar to Steam.
This game has a decent 70% on Metacritic, sure to be worth your time while likely not a contender for Game of the Year.
- What makes this deal worth considering? - It's free! Trying out a game for a few days is usually subject to rental fees which makes weekends like these worth watching for.
- Things to know before you buy! - This event lasts through October 15. You must be subscribed to either PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold, or download Ubisoft's UPlay program on your PC to join in on the fun.
