Arlo Technologies, Inc., the makers of the popular Arlo Pro 2 home security system, are rolling out a new update to the Arlo Smart subscription service called Animal, Vehicle, and Package Detection. If you already use Arlo cameras, like the Arlo Q 1080p camera and Arlo Smart, then you're about to get more bang for your buck without lifting a finger.
The new Animal, Vehicle and Package Detection feature will use AI-powered detection, advanced analytics, and powerful algorithms to provide "personalized, meaningful notifications." It will start as a beta feature and slowly become available to all Arlo Smart subscribers for free.
Arlo Smart already adds a boost to the Arlo cameras by using computer vision technology that lets users find out exactly what triggered their cameras to start recording. Users can then take direct action by contacting emergency services, friends, family, or monitor the feeds. The new feature will work with existing features to give users a way to customize the alerts and cover specific events like package deliveries or stray animals.
Arlo Smart already has some advanced features like Person Detection, Cloud Acitivity Zones, and Rich Notifications, which sends thumbnail clips to the lock screen of your smartphone.
If you use Arlo security cameras, but haven't tried Arlo Smart yet you can sign up for a 30-day free trial. The subscription plans start as low as $2.99 a month for one camera or $14.99 a month for 20 cameras.
