The Kohl's Black Friday 2017 ad has arrived. It packs a lot into its 64 pages, but should you be shopping at Kohl's this Black Friday?

First, let's talk about the best -- and worst -- deals from the Kohl's 2017 Black Friday ad.

Update: Kohl's has also detailed it's Cyber Monday plans. The big change is that its week-long sales will be both in-store and online this year!

Hottest Kohl's Black Friday Deals

Samsung 55" 4K Smart UHDTV (UN55MU6290) - $499.99 + $150 Kohl's Cash + $25 Yes2You Rewards - This TV usually sells for around $700, and it received 4.4 out of 5 stars based on 73 reviews at Walmart. When you factor in the Kohl's Cash, this price is unbeatable. As another plus, typically hot Black Friday TV deals are on models specifically made for the holiday, manufactured by less-reputable brands. With this deal you're getting a Samsung, which is a tried-and-true staple.

DJI Spark Mini Quadcopter Drone - $399.99 + $120 Kohl's Cash + $20 Yes2You Rewards - We expect that $399.99 will be the going price for the DJI Spark this holiday season, especially since it has already dropped to as low as $404. Once again, the kicker here is the Kohl's Cash. Getting $140 back makes this deal smoking hot.

KitchenAid Classic KSM75 Stand Mixer - $199.99 + $60 Kohl's Cash + $10 Yes2You Rewards - Kohl's is notorious for its Black Friday KitchenAid deals, and this year is no exception. The best offering is the KSM75 model for $200. Last year Kohl's had the same offer, but it only included $45 in Kohl's Cash. This year it is upping the ante by offering $60 in Kohl's Cash. This deal requires a $40 mail-in rebate, so the gratification might not be instant, but there is a silver lining. The KitchenAid deals aren't doorbusters, which means you'll be able to use a coupon code on them to get an even better deal if Kohl's follows the multi-year tradition of offering a 15% off promotion during Thanksgiving week.

Amazon Echo Dot - $29.99 - This is a great deal on a popular item that will give you a smarter home. This price isn't groundbreaking; several stores offered Echo Dots for $30 last Black Friday. However, if you spend $20 on anything else at Kohl's, you'll get another $15 back in Kohl's Cash. That's not something other stores offer. If anything else sticks out to you in the Kohl's ad, and you purchase it along with this device, that is probably going to be the cheapest way to get an Echo Dot.

Google Home - $79.99 + $15 Kohl's Cash - The best deal on a Google Home that we've ever seen is $109.99. This is a killer price on an item that has only grown more popular in recent months. There will definitely be other deals on the Google Home this Black Friday, but I doubt they will drop below $65.

Ice-Cold Deals

All this Kohl's Cash doesn't mean that every deal in this ad is a good one. Take, for example, the PS4 or Xbox 1 controllers for $39.99. They were $36 last week...and in July...and on Prime Day....you get the picture. Black Friday deals should be hotter than that.

Another example is the $69.99 Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 camera. It comes with $15 in Kohl's Cash and a bonus pack of film, but last Black Friday I got my Instax camera for $30. You can do better than this, folks.

One more example is the offer for $10 beauty stocking stuffers. These items are from off-brands, and if you're considering them, I urge you to check out Sephora's Black Friday sale instead. The entire sale is always a huge selection of $10 beauty gifts from brands that are much more prestigious. As always when Black Friday shopping, do your price research beforehand so you don't get swindled.

Store Hours

If you were hoping for Gray Thursday to go away, we have some bad news. Kohl's is opening at 5PM on Thanksgiving, which is a full hour earlier than last year. If other retailers follow suit, which they probably will, it looks like Gray Thursday is here to stay for at least another year. On the plus side, if you refuse to shop in-store on Thanksgiving, you'll be glad to know that you can shop Kohl's Black Friday deals online starting at 12:01 AM CT on Monday, November 20th. Note that some doorbusters may sell out quickly or not even be available at all online, so if you're trying to get one, plan to shop in-store or shop early online for the best chance at completing your order before someone else beats you to it.

Kohl's Cash

Kohl's might not be the first store you think of when it comes to hot deals, but the reality is that it often beats other retailers' prices when you factor in Kohl's Cash. If you shop Kohl's Black Friday sale in-store or online, you'll earn $15 in Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent. Kohl's Cash can be redeemed on almost everything Kohl's sells. You'll earn Kohl's Cash from November 20th through November 25th and you can spend it from November 26th through December 6th. For example, if you purchase the Nest Cam Indoor Security Camera for $149.99, you'll get $45 back in Kohl's Cash. That's almost $100 off what this item typically sells for.

Of course, if you never shop at Kohl's, then you might not care about Kohl's Cash. The stipulation that you have to spend it during a specific time frame means that may not be as hot of a deal for some shoppers. Only you can determine whether or not Kohl's Cash is enticing to you. However, for a lot of customers, the Kohl's Cash sweetens the deal by a large amount, especially considering the fact that Kohl's sells everything from toys to TVs. You can also redeem it online so you don't have to venture in-store to spend your free money.

Yes2You Rewards

If you are planning on shopping at Kohl's, especially during it's Black Friday sale, you should sign up for the free Yes2You Rewards program. You'll earn points for every dollar spent, and sometimes you get extra rewards or exclusive promotions. You get a $5 reward every time you spend $100. So, for example, if you are getting $200 worth of stuff on Black Friday, not only will you get $60 back in Kohl's Cash, you'll get another $10 in Yes2You rewards.

Analysis, Tips, & Tricks

In my opinion, Kohl's had the absolute hottest Black Friday ad in 2016. This year, the deals don't disappoint, but they aren't quite as enticing as I am used to seeing from Kohl's. For that reason, combined with the fact that this ad leaked almost two weeks before it usually does, I would not be surprised if we see hotter deals announced closer to Black Friday. Of course, Thrifter will keep you updated if anything changes.

You should also keep in mind the fact that Kohl's typically offers an additional 15% off sitewide coupon code during their Black Friday sale. It doesn't work on doorbusters, but it applies to almost everything else on the website. Kohl's allows shoppers to stack up to 4 promotion codes at a time when shopping online; you can redeem a percent-off code, a dollar-off code, a shipping code, and a Kohl's Yes2You rewards code. We expect to see at least one coupon code pop up during the Kohl's Black Friday sale.

In previous years, Kohl's has also dropped its free shipping threshold from $75 down to $50. If you don't plan on spending $50 you can choose free in-store pickup as well.
